Renaissance

Shit my last entry was in Jan...so i think i might just jot down something to keep this place alive...

as im working at the IT service right now, nothing much is going on...however, its kinda fussy outside as its the LSE SU election day. futhermore, just learnt that there ll be another voting today on whether the SU should support Tibet independence...lots of ppl cant believe the SU is actually doing this even though LSE is famous for its left-wing tradition. they are so pissed and gathering ppl to protest whatever the SU is planning...well, i guess those SU kids are doing this just because they can while they r still in the university. they can still make some noise while they are here so they just take on whatever subject they have in front of them. i mean, when we finally get out of school and enter the society, reality is just gonna fuck us right up. so why dont we just take the chance and for once fuck something else up?

so, if u ask me, id say just go for it. if ppl wanna support tibet or any other bet to be independent, then let them support. if u wanna say no and tell those supporters to go fuck themselves, just make sure you say it out loud! what i HATE the most is calling and asking other ppl to come and vote for whichever side. i just HATE it when someone is trying to force his own mind into someone else's head and being judgemental if others disagree. coz get your brain raped is just TOO fucked up. dont u think so?

for that, i diss those kids who use this voting and any other kind as a 'standard' to measure patriotism and show how much they love their county---let's take this futher, i diss those kids who walk, talk and act in such a patriote way on media and streets. like they cant tell ppl just how much love they have for their country and behaving like they are here to represent justice and truth---if u really love your motherland so much, why do u work your ass off to try to get a job here, try to get that green card and see going back to china after graduating as such a failure?  i dont know about you, but i'd tell them to shut the fuck up.

Oasis's china tour was banned due to political reasons (tibet issue). im not a fan but i agree with what they r singing in that song:

there are ppl who care different things and they are just fine. if you take that away, i think that is really a crime. so i'd say let's try to keep our own minds to tell right from wrong, in that way, we can be forever free and forever young...

这两天全是美国总统就职的新闻，全世界各地的黑人兄弟欢呼雀跃，亚裔、拉美甚至巴基斯坦人也跟着庆祝，似乎这是全世界各人种对抗种族主义的伟大胜利，也是全人类迈向“世界人民大团结”的重要一步…… 突然想到很久之前看的两部电影，Crash和American History X, 于是决定再装一回文艺青年

似乎很久以前在这里提到过Crash， 因父亲去世而变得种族主义的警官获得了解脱， 锁匠抱着女儿喜极而泣——想要复仇的老人懊悔不已， 不幸的妈妈失去了尚未出生的孩子 , 小混混终于因为做了一件好事而心情舒畅， 年轻的警察却误杀了一名黑人平民，探长仍在追查凶手的下落 ……然而，一切似乎都不是那么坏， 最后围着火焰熊熊的发生杀人事故的汽车起舞的人群似乎预示着和平、平等的无限可能。电影让人思考，思考的是如何让种族间的不和像那些罪证一样化为灰烬，如何让影片中的悲剧不再发生——因为我们已从影片中看到了希望——这希望最终化成黑夜中的火花倒映在每个人眼里。就是因为这样，这部手法熟练，叙事巧妙，有着浓浓好莱坞情结的电影最终获得了奥斯卡的肯定。

但是，另一部电影American History X却给我们讲述了一个截然不同的故事。相比Crash，这个故事及其简单，然而，它带来的震撼却远超那个五彩缤纷的好莱坞寓言。它告诉我们了一个没人愿意面对的事实：种族主义是永恒存在的——因为人为动物，暴力为本能。这种天性深沉的埋藏在每个人的外表下，而歧视及其种种恰好成为了这天性自由发挥的舞台。电影没有否定转变的可能，反而积极的肯定它：这些我们都看到了，一个像Derek那样的人也可以获得第二次机会，可以对自己对他人有全新的认知，可以从根本上产生改变……但是，人类不行——我们永远是留着鲜血，凶悍残忍，充满欲望的生物。所以，也许Crash里的一个个改过自新的故事会发生，但那并不是普遍的，长久的事实——这也是为什么对我来说，Crash无法与American History X相提并论: 前者讲几个故事，每个故事连起来结成一张网——只不过一个更大的，更完整的故事而已，虽然充斥着好莱坞式的希望，但它至多只是L.A.社会的一方面。可是，在American History X的一个故事里，在Derek的身上，我们看到了（至少是美国的）一段历史，虽然这段历史并不光彩，可是它一直在继续。就像最后鲜血飞溅的一幕高声宣判的一样，暴力是纯粹的，反复循环的，种族间的矛盾也没有完结，在高举“文明”“平等”大旗的今天，它仍然如同白色瓷砖上的鲜血一样刺眼且肆无忌惮的蔓延。正因为这样，美好的愿望和善良的转变才如此脆弱，似乎就像最后一幕沙滩上的那些痕迹－－被水轻轻一碰就消失不见， 而影片结尾Danny 的声音也显得如此苍白：“Hate is baggage. Life's too short to be pissed off all the time. It's just not worth it… We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.” 但是，观赏过这部电影的每个人都会发觉，这声音长久的萦绕耳际，有着不符合人类生命脆弱的坚强，所以，我们宁愿相信一切并不是徒劳无功，宁愿相信那些痕迹已经随着涨退的潮水涌入大海，划向更为宽广的未来……

现在在阿姆斯特丹机场，外面就是欧洲最“好玩”的城市，可惜，我只能坐在麦当劳里等飞机……唯一值得庆幸的是11个小时之后，就在北京了。

突然有点感慨了－－伦敦的圣诞，大连的新年,连接这喧闹的是中间横跨半个地球的孤独……
